Week 4 focusing on the best balance

If you don't like the lighting, wait 30 minutes.
Wednesday 10/8/2014  9:35 AM

This morning at 8:00 it was over cast and grey.  I was setting up to shoot with flat light and went on line to check out some information.  By the time I answered the phone a few times it was going on 9:00 and the skies had cleared.  so today I played around with aperture, shutter speed and ISO to find the best balance between the sky and the front of the tree.

week 3- Too many distractions

Wednesday 10/1/2014 8:47 AM

A busy day around the grand tree- many walkers out, a couple of deer and loads of cars.
I managed to take a few shots and then the landscape company parked it's truck and trailer directly in front of the tree and unloaded their bobcat.

Later in the  evening the sun was setting behind the tree providing interesting lighting, so I ran out only to find the street lined with cars!

Week 2 Autumn has Arrived

Week 2  Autumn has Arrived

Monday September 22 was the official start of Autumn and the Legacy Park grand tree has taken it's que to prepare for  Winter. Nothing remarkable about the Wednesday shot it is nice crisp and clean.  I did notice of Friday that a small section of leaves had become inpatient and changed color.  If you look on the Wednesday shot you can see the ares is slightly more yellow that the rest of the tree.
What a difference 2 days can make.
I  like to see the variance in color time of day, and light conditions create.
